Top Heroes – Unofficial Master Guide

New Player Master Guide – Day 1 to Week 4 Roadmap

A focused 10-step checklist to help you start strong, avoid common mistakes, and build a long-term account in Top Heroes.

Steps 1–4: Early Game Rush

1. Push Your Castle Levels Intelligently

Your Castle level controls most of your account progression. Higher Castle levels unlock buildings, features, and a higher hero level cap.

  • Make the Castle your top priority building early on.
  • Keep builders busy on Castle prerequisites instead of random structures.
  • Time upgrades so long Castle timers run while you are offline or doing events.

Tip: Each Castle level increase lets you raise your hero levels further. Save resources (especially Meat) so you can jump your main heroes up right after key Castle upgrades.

2. Treat Adventure Mode as Your Main Engine

Adventure Mode is where you unlock most of the game’s progression systems and resources.

  • Clear stages, open chests, and rescue villagers whenever possible.
  • Use your daily stamina so it doesn’t cap – idle stamina wasted is progress lost.
  • If you’re stuck on a stage, farm earlier bosses for gear and materials.

The core loop is simple: Explore → Upgrade → Explore again.

3. Keep Villagers and Queues Working

Villagers, queues, and timers are your “hidden” power. Idle villagers are missed progress.

  • Assign villagers to resource and production buildings whenever you can.
  • Avoid long periods with empty queues – always have something building, researching, or training.
  • Let long timers run while you’re playing events or logging off for the night.

4. Start Building Around a Small Core of Heroes

Early on, it’s tempting to level everything. Resist that urge.

  • Pick 4–5 core heroes and funnel most of your resources into them.
  • You want a stable lineup: at least one tanky frontline, one or two strong damage dealers, and one support/healer when available.
  • A focused team will carry you further than a wide spread of underleveled units.

Steps 5–7: Mid-Game Structure & Gear

5. Join a Guild and Engage in Events

A good guild accelerates your account more than almost anything else.

  • Join a guild as soon as you can – even an average one is better than none.
  • Participate in guild events, bosses, and arms race style competitions.
  • Use guild rewards and shop currency to boost key heroes and gear.

6. Upgrade the Right Buildings First

Not all buildings are equal. Some provide permanent account-wide stats or core progression.

Early building priority (rough order):

  • Castle – unlocks almost everything, always keep pushing this.
  • Research building / academy – powers up your entire account.
  • Training / Barracks – keeps your troop strength from lagging behind.
  • Hospital / healing buildings – reduce losses and keep you fighting in PvP or events.
  • Medal / Hall type buildings – usually give global stat boosts like HP/attack.
  • Rally / Formation building – increases rally size and flexibility for group content.

7. Focus Your Gear Investments

Gear can be a huge stat spike if you invest wisely.

  • Don’t waste materials upgrading random items for every hero.
  • Choose a main carry hero and push their gear to the first key enhancement breakpoints (for example, to unlock set bonuses).
  • Convert lower tier materials into higher value gear or currency when the game allows it.

It is better to have one very strong, properly geared hero than five with half-finished sets.

Steps 8–9: Team Synergy & Research

8. Build a Synergistic Team and Pick a Main Faction

Eventually, you’ll want to commit to a particular faction or team style so your investments compound.

  • Plan for a lineup with at least two sturdy frontliners to protect your damage dealers.
  • Include at least one dedicated support or healer – these often matter more in longer fights.
  • Once you find a faction that feels good (Horde / Nature / League, etc.), start focusing most of your upgrades there instead of spreading out.

Synergy beats raw power – a coordinated team often outperforms a random mix of high rarity heroes.

9. Follow Smart Research Priorities

Research affects almost every part of your account, but some nodes are much more efficient than others.

Good early research priorities:

  • Queue / march size and speed – speeds up farming, events, and gathering.
  • Growth & economy – construction time, research time, and production boosts compound over days and weeks.
  • Combat basics – early troop stats that help you clear more content reliably.
  • Faction-specific lines – once you commit to a main faction, lean into the nodes that directly support it.

Step 10: Use Community Knowledge

10. Learn From Other Players

The fastest way to improve is to learn from people who are already deep into the game.

  • Join active Discord servers or communities for Top Heroes.
  • Read hero breakdowns, tier lists, and team composition discussions.
  • Search for updated recommendations when new seasons or balance changes hit.

Use external resources to avoid common traps – like over-investing in heroes that fall off later, or ignoring powerful but less obvious support units.
